Mechanical Engineering

Objective

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, in six years of its establishment, has come a long way developing along modern lines by laying emphasis upon production, usage of heat and mechanical power for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools.

These programmes provide the technical knowledge in mechanical engineering which includes the science and art of formulation, development, fabrication and control of systems and components involving dynamics, thermodynamics, mechanics, materials, and the conversion of energy into useful work.

The Department offers Two years full time M. Tech (Mechanical Engineering) which is designed to meet the rapidly changing needs of the industry that demands new skills. Students get an opportunity to involve themselves in high-end research works to build skills beyond curriculum and a Four years full time B. Tech programme in Mechanical Engineering, also it offers three years full time diploma programme with specialization in Production Engineering and Automobile Engineering.

  • Providing the skills in the field of Design, Fabrication. Operation, Maintenance and Procurement of engineering plants and related materials.
  • Developing an aptitude to identify, formulate and solve engineering problems mathematically.
  • Implementation of computer and simulation techniques.
  • Develop innovative technologies to multidisciplinary problems as well.

Curriculum

The curriculum of B. Tech Mechanical Engineering is divided into 4 years and 8 semesters where as the M. Tech programme is divided into 2 year and 4 semesters. The scope of studies encompasses following subjects:
