Computer Science

Objective

Department provides various programs which includes undergraduate, and postgraduate Courses. The department offers two year full time M. Tech (Computer Science & Engineering) programme and four years full time B. Tech (CSE). The aim of the department is to provide high quality education with training the students with all the new advancements in the computers field.

The undergraduate course aims at making fundamentals strong by practically implementing the ideas. The postgraduate program guides the students to understand & identifying their own interest areas in the field of Computer Science and Engineering, from where they can carry their further research.

The scope of computer science is endless. The students of the computer science & engineering are highly demanded by the recruiters of the top companies. The department provides platform for the students to achieve their career goals.

  • Developing the skills to apply the knowledge of computing & mathematics
  • An ability to apply mathematical foundations, algorithmic principles, and computer science theory in the modeling and design of computer-based systems in a way that demonstrates comprehension of the tradeoffs involved in design choices

Curriculum

The curriculum of B. Tech Computer Science & Engineering is divided into 4 years and 8 semesters where as the M. Tech programme is divided into 2 year and 4 semesters. The scope of studies encompasses following subjects:

  • Software Engineering
  • Operating System
  • Computer Network
  • Theory of Automata
  • Computer Organization
  • Web Designing
  • Multimedia Technologies
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Seminar
  • Industrial Training
  • Project

Projects

This project is investigating various biometric sources (face, iris, hand, fingerprint, and gait) and sensors (2D, 3D, infra-red, ...) with the goal of developing more accurate biometric techniques. Our research group is supporting the government programs on the Gait Challenge Problem, the Face Recognition Grand Challenge, and the Iris Challenge Evaluation.

The goal of this project is to develop computer systems that automatically sense when a user is bored, confused, frustrated, etc., by monitoring facial features, speech contours, body movements, interaction patterns, and physiological responses. The emotion detection systems will be integrated into computer interfaces in an attempt to provide more effective, user-friendly, and naturalistic interactions. Several projects focusing on either adapting existing emotion detection systems or investigating new modalities for emotion detection are available.
